If one thing the Pandemic has shown is this statement isn't correct. Look at webcams with dodgy colours or lacking features. Then there is the whole wireless audio setup. You can have a top-of-the-range wireless Sony headset but then have to suffer from some 1990s only codec, no support for modern codecs like Qualcomm aptX, aptX HD etc.

And I love my Ubuntu / PopOS setup but in this area it's really bad.
